Fisher Recycling helps municipalities in Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties set up cost-effective glass recycling services for their residents. All glass collected is hauled to our facility in North Charleston to be processed and ready for a second life!

Recycling for Local Governments

We would love to work with you to keep the glass from your community out of the landfill. From small recycling drop sites to large city municipal programs, we are here to make glass recycling work for you.

We’re able to produce high volumes of clean glass because we have a better collection method. To truly give glass a second chance at life through recycling, quality material needs to be separated from the single stream. Local governments can trust that we recycle 100% of what we collect. Much of the glass is processed and reused in our family’s product line, GlassEco Surfaces. Excess glass is then hauled to glass recycling plants in the southeast, to give the glass new life in other ways. We love the fact that we recycle all of our glass!

Our Process

  • Waste Audit - Our complimentary waste audit is conducted by trained and experienced members of our team. We will gather the information we need to develop the best, most cost-effective recycling solution for your community. Grant money may be available to offset costs, and drop sites can also be sponsored by corporations or individuals.

  • Recycling Solution Design - Our recycling solutions are based completely on your needs. We will work with you to determine where public drop sites would be most convenient for residents as well as the frequency of collection. Setting up glass-only recycling services will require minimal administration by you. Fisher Recycling will supply, distribute and maintain wheeled carts at designated drop sites with signage.

  • Education - Educating your residents about the drop sites is key to success, and we will aim to get the word out through active local organizations, news outlets, and social media groups.

We collect the glass from the City of Isle of Palms every week thanks to the efforts of their Environmental Advisory Committee.

Fisher collects the glass every week and ensures that the items will be used as glass products, not landfill.

Sponsor a Drop Site

In addition to leveraging our commercial recycling services, companies can sponsor a residential drop site or pop-up event for glass recycling. This creates opportunities for residents in the area to learn about glass recycling and become a part of our mission to divert glass from the landfills. It’s a great way to gain exposure in the community and show your commitment to social corporate responsibility.
